ETHICAL + SUSTAINABLE SWIMWEAR BRANDS TO WATCH IN 2021

There are so many options when it comes to choosing swimwear, and while it’s tempting to spend $25 on another cute bikini, I want to share a few reasons why you should reconsider.

When you buy something for only $25, it makes it more disposable, you tend to buy more than what you need and when it no longer fits or loses its shape, it’s easy to throw out. Instead, I encourage you to look for ethical and sustainable brands. It does seem crazy to spend a lot of money on such a small piece of material, but I can tell you from experience that if you shop around and spend a bit more, you will get a bathing suit that is of better quality. You will notice that the higher quality swimwear will make you look and feel so much better. It will also last longer so you’re less likely to dispose of it and pollute our landfills or it could even end up in the ocean.

I’ve shopped around for swimwear brands that are more ethical and sustainable but don’t comprise style. These are my picks for ethical and sustainable swimwear brands to watch in 2021:

LONDRE BODYWEAR

I love Londre’s commitment to sustainability. They create their swimwear out of recycled plastic bottles, are made in Canada and are so flattering. They can’t keep their suits in stock so make sure to check them out!

SALTWATER COLLECTIVE

Another Canadian company, Saltwater Collective uses abandoned fishing nets and nylon waste from landfills to create their super cute swimwear. They are dedicated to being fashion-forward while still keeping our oceans clean!

CONSCIOUS THE LABEL

The name says it all! Conscious the Label creates simple but timeless swimwear that is made from recycled ocean waste plastic. I love their leopard print. They also donate 1% of sales to environmental causes.

VITAMIN A

Vitamin A is very transparent about its sustainability, they think of everything from its swimwear materials to packaging. If that’s not enough, their swimwear styles are incredible and they have loungewear too!
