FALL/WINTER LOOKBOOK

Creating my first Lookbook was an interesting experience. First of all, it was supposed to be a Fall Lookbook but it snowed in Calgary and it is freezing cold hence the Fall/Winter. I also did not anticipate carrying around huge bags of clothes and running in and out of buildings trying to find a bathroom to change outfits being so hard! I was completely exhausted and frozen by the end but it was a lot of fun and would do it all over again.

Something you'll notice with all my outfits is that they are pretty easy, comfortable, and casual. These are day-to-day looks that I feel good in and I thought that it would be fun to share with you. Enjoy!

I have been seeing the t-shirt-under-tank-top trend for a while now and I had very mixed feelings about it at first. But, the more I see it the more it is starting to grow on me. I wasn't going to try it myself until I found this dress at Target. It was perfect for me because I don't like to invest a lot of money on trends that can quickly come and go. It is also an all in one outfit! The t-shirt is attached to outer slip dress, which may seem a little adolescent but I thought it was great! I was really surprised by the quality of the t-shirt it's so soft and fits really well.

This piece is pretty casual so I added booties with a chunky heel (so comfortable) and a floppy felt hat. Hats elevate any outfit they are seriously one of the best accessories.

Fall and Winter means sweater weather! I love the idea of just throwing on a sweater and a pair of jeans and your outfit is pretty much complete. The details on the back of this Express sweater are really different and make it a little more interesting. I just love it with the knit texture and boxy style.

I wanted to make this look a bit more edgy so I paired the sweater with some destroyed jeans and the same booties from the previous outfit.

Style tip: Try rolling up your jeans at the bottom when wearing booties to make your legs look longer.

This look is my favourite because it includes my go-to pieces: a white shirt and distressed jeans. You can never go wrong with some good jeans and a white shirt, seriously. I like this white shirt by Boohoo because it has some detail at the front which makes it a little more exciting than just a plain white shirt. I'm also wearing my favourite boyfriend jeans which you will see many times more in the future (sorry not sorry).

To add some warmth to this outfit and make it more Fall appropriate I wrapped myself in a blanket scarf. I love wearing it as a cape because I feel so cozy and it gives a flowy poncho kind of look. Throw on whatever booties you have, a hat, and you are good to go! So easy and fun!

What would a Fall/Winter Lookbook be without a turtleneck? I personally think that turtlenecks look chic any time of the year but we definitely see them a lot more in the Fall. This turtleneck is thicker and more like a sweater so it can be worn on its own or you can still add more layers!

I balanced out the black in the shirt with some high-waisted black jeans and booties again. As I said before I like to keep my outfits simple and pretty minimal. But I do feel like this would look really cute with a big statement necklace.
