WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CALGARY + THE MOUNTAINS IN JANUARY

The craziness of the holiday season is done, now what? I’ve created a list of events happening in Calgary and nearby to give you ideas for things to do in the city and in the mountains. I even included some tips to get things a little cheaper if you’re trying to save money.

WHAT TO DO IN CALGARY:

GO TO THE CALGARY PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

Going to the CPO is one of my favourite things to do in the city. Each show is so different but its always a fun experience to be immersed in the amazing sounds of the orchestra. If you’re between the ages of 13-29 you can sign up for CPOpossibilities and get amazing tickets for you and a guest for $15!

TRY FREEDOM FIT PASS

Does anyone else have fitness goals for 2020? Freedom Fit Pass is a local fitness pass that gives you no-restriction access to six different studios in the city so you can change up your workouts every time! Now is the best time to try it because they introduced a brand new Intro Pass. Check it out here. The studios include Kult Fitness, Rhythm Ride, Cityscape Crossfit, Yoga Nova Studio, Cor.fit, and Square 1 Fitness.

WHAT TO DO IN THE MOUNTAINS:

CHECK OUT SNOWDAYS IN BANFF

From January 15-26 it’s SnowDays in Banff and Lake Louise! Each day they have different events and activities happening like an ice sculpture competition, a winter carnival, a play zone for families and so much more. See the full schedule here.

ATTEND THE TRIBUTE TO CRAFT COCKTAILS OUTDOOR EVENT IN BANFF

Throughout SnowDays, TRIBUTE is showcasing the best craft distilleries from Alberta and BC with special cocktail menus at partner restaurants and bars in Banff and Lake Louise.

On January 24 and 25, there is an outdoor tasting experience in downtown Banff which is such a fun way to support the craft distillers and food scene in the Canadian Rockies. Find out more here and I’ll see you there!

SPEND A WEEKEND IN RADIUM

Hot springs, skiing, and turning off social media for the weekend? Yes, please! Radium is a great option to have a weekend getaway at a lower cost. Check out the Big Horn Meadows Resort for the perfect place to unwind.

PICK UP SOME COFFEE + SNACKS AT THE HEART OF BRAGG CREEK

Want a quick and cozy day trip? Visit The Heart of Bragg Creek for their cafe which is completely plant-based and has some of the most amazing baked goods you’ll ever have. They also have a yoga space so you can really spend the whole day there!
